David Common is the Host of World Report, CBC Radio's flagship national newscast. He continues his work as a Correspondent for CBC News, television, radio and digital. As a reporter, he's covered wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Mali and natural disasters in the Philippines, Japan and Haiti. He also once interviewed Elmo. David has been based in New York, Paris, London, Regina, Winnipeg, Fredericton and now calls Toronto home. And he's seen both sides of the assignment process -- as a reporter in the field and as a programmer using that content.
