Welcome to the 2014 RTDNA Canada convention. We're hoping to make these two days in Toronto "all about you and your newsroom."
Our focus this year builds on the experience we had at last year's
national conference. You told us you wanted "takeaway" and you liked the
concurrent skills sessions. So we've expanded the program this year
with sessions aimed at everything from integrated
assignments to shooting viz with your DSLR. We've also set up sessions
focused on the unique challenges you face as a newsroom manager.
And for the first time, we have sessions focused on using digital media
tools to create great content for all of our platforms. Long gone are
the days when we were radio or televisions stations with a website.
We're pleased to have our friends at Google Canada
offering their expertise and sponsorship support.
Our organizing committee has spent a great deal of time and energy
pulling this program together for you - to give you and your staff some
real practical takeaway information that can be put to use on Monday morning.
You wanted RTDNA to be relevant. You wanted the sessions to address your issues. You wanted "take away".
You'll be the judge but I hope we've done that for you.
Thanks to everyone who offered up the great ideas, who produced the
content, who chased down the panelists and filtered all the "free
advice" to shape this year's conference.
Enjoy your weekend.
